SHEEP DOG TRIALS.
POVERTY BAY CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING. The Poverty Bay Sheep Dog Trial Club wero favored with glorious weather for their annual meeting, which commenced at Kail-i yesterday. There was a record number of entries, and keen interest was taken in the proceedings. Mr W. G. Brcmnor officiated as judge, whilst Mr E. C. Scaekwood ucted as timekeeper. A word of praise is duo to Mr 0. Hellier Evans, the energetic secretary, for the excellent arrangements made for tho meeting, aud mention might also be mado of the services rendered by Mr W. Sadler, of Waipiro. The trials opened with Class 1, straight hunt away to flag, about a quarter of a mile distant. Tho timo allowed was 15 minutes. Tho sheep used wero cross bred wothorß, kindly supplied from the Pakovvai station by Mr W. Sherratt. There wore thirty-one starters. The work on the whole was not as good as at previous trials. Tho first class was concluded during the aftornoon, with the following result
