Per Press Association,, Hawera, last night. For the second day of tho Egmont meeting tho weather was fine, and tho attendance large. Tho following are the results : Trial Handicap.—Romany Girl 1, Redan 2, Maureen 3. Scratched ; Tangawai and Gold Dust. Won hard held by a leDgth and a half. Time 1.6 1-5, divs. £7 5s 6d and JGI 13s Gd.

Stewards’ Handicap.—l'aura 1, Pareroa 2, Dick Turpin'3. Scratched : Stampede, Tolede, and Vacillate. Won by a length and a-half. Time 1.48 20, divs. £2 19s and £2 2s 6d. Borough Handicap.—Black Reynard 1, Anchorite 2, Crusoe 3. Also ran : Full Cry and Blackwing. Won easily by a length and a-lialf. Time 1.32 1-5, div. £3 17s 6d. Second Hack Hurdles.—Highlow 1, Lady Bell 2, Oracle 3. Also ran : Rags and Hawera. Jumping away Highlow fenced finely, and won by a couple of chains. Time 3.5, div. US 2s.

Opeke Handicap.— Kidbrook 1, Stampede 2, Tambourine 3. All started. Kidbrook got away first and held the lead throughout. Time 1.20 4-5, diva. ils 8s 6d and £2 5s 6d. Manaia Handicap. Durable 1 Blackwing 2 Hardwork 3 Also ran : Tupara and Oracle. Won by half-a-length. Hardwork got jammed in the straight. Time 2.0 1-5, divs. 413 14s 6d. Ngamutu Handicap.—Sandy 1, Kidbrook 2, Maureen 3. Scratched : Taura, Stepson, Waimoe, Inglewood, Little Turk, and Vacillate. Won by half a length. Time 1.18 4-0, divs, £1 14s 6d and 434 ss.

The Stewards after the Stewards' Handicap held an enquiry as to the run ning of Taura on the previous day, but saw no reason to alter the Judge’s award. The amount put through the totalisator amounted to 415923.
