THE DROUGHT.

LETTER TROM MR SEDDON,

By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. MELBOURNE, May 8.

The Mayor, presiding at the Drought Relief Committee meeting, read a letter from Mr Seddon, covering a donation of one hundred pounds from Hugh Campbell, Mr Seddon says : “ I need hardly state that the .sufferers have tlie entire sympathy of myself and colleagues. Had the several State Governments seen their way some months ago to accept the proffered aid* I feel sure that material assistance would have eusued. It was intended only as a neighborly action, and in accepting the offer no loss of prestige would have happened to Australia.”
