DAIRYING AT MOTU
NEGOTIATIONS WITH MR McGREGOR.
On Saturday afternoon Mr A. Hickford had an interview with Mr X. McGregor, when the latter made ail amended offer Jj the settlers of the Molu and Whaaaruu district-, to elect a dairy factory at Mutu, and a creamery between Wilakarau and Moiu. Mr McGregor was quite satisfied with the number of eo.v« guaranteed, and all that is now required is lor tire settlers lo meet him can rcrriing toe erection of a creamery, in addition to the factory at Mutu, between the places mentioned. There is little doubt that tins will be done, and that next season Motu will partake of the nenMits of the dairying industry. Mr McGregor and the settlers of the Motu arc to be congratulated upon tire enterprise that they are displaying, and we trust that tne negotiations at present being carried on will be brought to a satisfactory issue. A public meeting of Whakarau and Motu sc-ttlers will ue held m the Motu schoolroom on Saturday, iotn ins t., at 8 p.m., to consider the erection of a creamery near Whakarau.
