George Bryce was committed for sentence this morning on ' two charges of forging and uttoring cheques *o local hotelkeepers. John Taggart was also committed for sentonce for making a false order whereby money was paid to him instead of to his wife.

It is announced in to-day’s issue of the Standard that Messrs Nash and Coombs, late of the Dannevirke Advocate, succeed Messrs F. and D. Pirani as proprietors of the Manawatu Standard. .
