A DUNEDIN MYSTERY.
o YOUNG WOMAN’S DEATH AND MAN’S DISAPPEARANCE.
(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. Agnes Campbell, 21 years ot age, who resided with her mother, met her death on Tuesday night, or this morning,, under mysterious circumstances. She left her home on Tuesday evening, apparently in her usual health, but did not return, and this afternoon her body was found in a sitting position opposite the Xhiiversity buildings. .There were no marns of violence on the body, and nothing to account for death. As tue hill on which the body was found is a favorite place for persons to sit down on on a line day and contemplate the Water of Leith and tin panoramic view, it is probable the body had been there all day. A peculiar circumstance is that John usmond, 24 years of age, who was keeping company with tue girl, is also missing. He left his home, on Tuesday evening, and has not returned. It is said that he was seen w ith Miss Campbell some time later. A post mortem on the girl’s body will be held.
Later.—The hat of the young man Osmond, who is missing, was found on the foreshore this afternoon, and bar been identified.
