A meeting of the Chamber of Commerce was held to-day to consider tho question whether the time had arrived for discussing preferential trade between Britain and the colonies, Tne President (Mr Kent) and several others spoke. A proposal for an exhaustive diseussion, and if the result were favorable to approve of a preferential tariff, was carried.
