PRESIDENT LOUBET’S VISIT

President Loubot made a triumphal < progress through Pall Mall, Regent, and Oxford streets to Holborn and Cheapsido. Tho decorations along the route were general. President Loubet entertained tho King, Prince of Walos, and Duke of Connaught at a banquet at the French Emhassy. He conferred numerous decorations, including the creating of the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Lewis Beaumont, a Grand Officer of tho Legion of Honor. A gorgeous gala performance of opera was given in honor of tho visit. The King and Queer,, President Loubet, and all the Royal family wore present, aad a wonderfully brilliant assemblage was present. The display of diamonds was marvellous. Fail’s opera, “ Rigoletto," “ Romeo and Juliet,” and Carmen” wore produced. Melba and Calve took part. Predidont Loubet visited Windsor and laid a wroath of white lilies on tno late Queen Victoria’s tomb. He is so pleased with the cordiality of his welcome to Lug land that he expresses a hope that ho may re-visit the country.
