Political Points.
I do not agree with the suggested increase in the Land Tax, for landowners and country settlers have now to pay more than a fair share of the taxation of the colony,—Mr Massey. If Mr Seddon’s name were kept from the English public for a few years it would be better for the finances of New Zealand, —Mr Duthie. I would support a proposal making the final. Court of Appeal within the shores of this colony.—Mr McNab. The Government are doing their best to solve the Native land difficulty, and so far have done exceedingly good work.—Mr O’Meara. , Y Mr Duthio’s attack on Mr Seddon was unfair, unmanly, and dishonorable, and Mr Dutbie should apologize. Mr O’Meara. . The progress of the colony under the Seddon regime has been phenomenal.— Mr Major.
