During the last decade 34 per cent, of wouldrbe army recruits in Britain were rejected as medically unfit, in addition to a large number not examined, being obviously unfit. The chief cause of rejection was poor physique. The DirectorGeneral of the Army suggests the appointment of a commission to inquire into the causeß of decline, and the best means to improve the national health.
