APPOINTMENTS.
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Received 9.55 a.m., Aug. 2. London, Aug. 1. Sir E. W. Hamilton, present permanent financial secretary of the Treasury, and Sir G. H. Murray, secretary to the Postoffice, have been appointed joint permanent secretaries of the Treasury, Sir Francis Mowatt, permanent administrative secretary, having retired. Mr H. Babington Smith succeeds Sir G. H. Murray at the Post-office.
