August 21st, 1903., make and levy a General Rate of Three Farthings in the £1 on all rate'able property in the County that is occupied by Europeans, for the period commencing on Ist April, 1903, and ending on the 31st March, 1904, to be due and payable in one sum on jfche 21st August, 1903/ The Council will also at the same time make and levy a Charitable Aid Rate of l-l,4th of a Penny in the £1 on the same properties, for the same period. POVERTY BAY AGRICULTURAL AND PASTORAL SOCIETY. ALTERATIONS AND ADDITIONS TO PROGRAMME. THE following Alterations and Additions have been made to the Programme for this year’s Show: — ALTERATIONS. Class 3 should read “Four years old and upwards." Clas3 25 should read, “13 hands and under 14 hands.” Class 47 should read, “Four years old and upwards.” Class 78, read 3 in place of 2. Clas3 110 should read, “Five shorn freezers (ewes).” Class 160 (beans) to read “ horse beans." Class 150 (bacon), one class for factory and a second for home-oured. All Sheep Prizes to be £2 and £l. I Classes 62 and 63 (Ayrshire), Ist prize £2, 2nd £l. ADDITIONS. Horses: New class for 4-horse (light) teams at work. Ist prize £3 3s, presented by Mr G. Witters; 2nd, £2 2s, presented by the Society. In the event of only two entries, no second will be awarded. Pigs: A new class for Best lamworth Boar and another for Best Tamworth Sow. H. M.
