NOTICE. IN pursuance of the joint Standing Orders relative to Local Sills, notice is hereby given that the Gisborne Harbor Board will, during the present ensuing session of Parliament, cause to bq introduced a Bill, entituled, “An Act to further amend ‘ The Gisborne Harbor Act, 1884,’ and the amendments thereof.” The objects of suoh Bill are as follows: (1.) To direct the Public Trustee to invest all moneys the property of the Board in hi 3 hands as may from time to time be available, in the following securities : (a) Mortgages of real estate held in fee simple to three-fifths value, on an approved valuation by the Public Trust Board. (b) Mortgages of leaseholds issued under “ The Land Act, 1892,” to onehalf value on an approved valuation by the Public Trust Board. (c) In the purchase of Gisborne Harbor Board debentures. (d) In any Colonial or Imperial Government Securities; or, (e) On debentures issued by any local authority secured upon general or special rates.' (2.) To lend to tha Gisborne Borough Council, if so requested by the Council, £20,000, at not less than £4 per centum per annum, upon the security of—(a) The land acquired by the Council at Waihirere for tho purpose of waterworks. (b) A speoial rate of not exceeding two shillings and sixpence in the pound upon the annual value of all rateable property in the Borough of Gisborne, together with the issue of debentures under the provisions of “ The Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1901.” (3.) Such loan is to be deemed to be a hypothecation in part cf a special loan of £75,000, or other amount, which the Council are, or may be, authorised to raise for the purpose of water, drainage, and other undertakings. (4.) To direct the Public Trustee to notify the Harbor board when funds become available, when the Board may recommend investments to the Public Trustee, who shall, if the .requisite margin is shown, make such investments of the Board’s funds. (5.) To repeal so much of the provisions of “ The Gisborne Harbor Act, 1884, Amendment 1891.” as are inconsistent herewith. (0.) To repeal Section 12 of “ The Gis' bo.ne Harbor Board Further Empowering Act, 1900.” (7.) To confirm and validate a deed of arrangement, dated the 25th day of i duly, 1903, made between Messieurs Wi Peso ami Kawiri Karaba of the first part, William Lee Bees, - Esquire, of the second part, and the ‘ Gisborne Harbor Board of the third < part, whereby certain lands adjacent 1 to the Western groyne are vested in tho Board, and Lowe street is n continued to tha Beach ; and 3 moneys coming from the l{ail-.vay D Department arc payable to the Board, and the Native owners receive £550 therefor.
