'A FOOLISH MOB. By, Telegraph—Press 'AssociationCopyright. LAUNCESTON, August 1. Another case of smallpox has been reported. Guards .have been placed in positions to prevent traffic from the city unless travellers show a certificate of successful vaccination. This aroused indignation and legal opinion was submitted to the Government to show that there is no right to block the highways. Acting on a suggestion by the Mayor, two thousand people assembled headed by ai Ijrass hand, and marched past the guards, delving their interference.
