SUPREME COURT. Per Press Association Wellington, last night. At the Supreme Court Harry Hargreaves, found guilty of larceny, was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment. John and James Thorpe were acquitted of grieviously assaulting Chas. Gurote. APPOINTMENT OF S.M. Blr A. D. Thompson, clerk of the Magistrate’s Court, Wellington, has been appointed as Stipendiary Blagistrate. He will be stationed at Palmerston North. IN BIEBIORIAM. The bust in carrara marble of the late Sir John BlcKenzie, which is to stand in the Parliamentary library, was unveiled in the main iobby of the House of Representatives by the Premier ibis afternoon. Speeches eulogising the deceased were delivered by Mr Seddon, Sir Joseph Ward, Sir W. J. Steward, and Mr T. McKenzie, M.H.R.
