MASONIC.
INSTALLATION CEREMONY.
At Lodge Abercorn last night Bro. C. Hellier Evans was installed as Worshipful Master. Worshipful Bro. DeLisle acted as Installing Officer, and Bro. Major Winter as Director of Ceremonies. There was a large attendance, and an efficient orchestra, under Bro A. T. Hookey, added to the solemnity of the ceremony. The following officers were invested ; —S.W., Bro. J. H. Colebourne ; J.W., Bro. A. T. Hookey ; Chaplain, Bro. H. H. Wall, P.M.; Treasurer, Bro.. E. H. Mann. P.M.; Secretary, Bro. G. T. Bull, P.M. ; D, of C., Bro A. F. Kennedy, P.S.G.D.; S.D., Bro F. J, Lysnar; J.D., Bro A. Crawford ; I.G-., Bro C. A. Nield ; Steward, Bro H. N. Lysnar ; Steward, 810 A, V. S. Reed ; Tyler, Bro. J. Harrop. After the installation the brethren were invited to attend a banquet, which was laid out in Bro. J. Craig's best style. The following toasts were duly honored: — “ King and Craft ” ; “ Grand Lodge Officers,” coupled with the name of Bro Dr DeLisle ; “ Deputy Superintendent,” coupled with the name of Bro. H. H. Wall; “Immediate Past-Master and Re
tiring Officers,” coupled with the names of Bros. Fyson and Jamieson ; “ The Sister Lodges,” associated with the names of Bro. Seymour (W.M. Lodge Montrose) and Bro. Georgeson (W.M. Lodge Turanganui); “ Visiting Brethren,” coupled with the names of Bros. Gardiner and Ellis; “ The Newly Invested Officers," with the names of Bros. Colebourne and Hookey; “ Bro. Barlow,” w;th special reference to his services to the orchestra; and “ Bro. Ritchie," wishing him God-speed on his leaving to take up an appointment in IJawke’s Bay. The Tyler’s toast concluded the list. During the evening songs were given by Bros. Hookey, Barlow, Nield, Zacbariah, Allan and Ellis, and recitations by Bros. DeLisle, Kennedy, Gardiner, and Mackay. A pleasant evening broke up with the singing of “ Auld Lang Syne."
