OF A 1 PROMINENT MAN.

Per Press Association WELLINGTON, last night,

In connection with the sudden death of Hugh iVallance, a wellknown business man, thought to be due to heart disease, a bottle which had contained prussic acid was found in liis bedroom, and a letter to a relative also pointed to self-destruc-tion. At the inquest a verdict was returned that death was due to talcing prussic acid while in a state of temporary, depression.
