SAD SUICIDE.
MR 0, T. BATKIN SHOOTS HIMSELF
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, last night. Mr Charles Thomas Batkin, formerly Assistant-Controller and Auditor-General, shot himself with a rovolver this evening, and died shortly aftor. Deceased had been seriously ill for somo months suffering from a painful malady. Ho had retired from the Civil sorvico on a pension, and was in his 81st year.
