STATE COAL MINE.
VALUABLE SEA SI STRUCK. Per Press Association. Greymouth, last night. Word came to-night that coal had been struck in No. 2 tunnel of the State coal mine. A seam of twelve feet was drilled without boring through a tunnel 600 feet below the outcrop, 41 chains from No. 1 tunnel. This shows at present considerably over a million tons of coal available, and of excellent sample.
