BOWLING.

THE ENGLISH TEAM FOR THE COLONIES.

1 Tho following letter is in course of circulation amongst tbe bowling clubs of the United Kingdom:— “ Sir, —After various requests, and careful consideration, I have decided to undertake the formation of a bowling team to visit Australia and New Zealand during their next season, and in this project I have the hearty support of Dr. W. G. Grace, captain of the undermentioned club. The team will consist of three rinks, and leave this country about October, and the tour would oxtend over a period of about five months. Each member would, of course, be required to pay his expenses, which I estimate would amount to £250, and as evidence of good faith, the amount of the passage money to be deposited with the London and Westminster Bank, Limited, to be returned in full to each member in the event of the projected visit falling through, I earnestly appeal to the captains and secretaries of all clubs in tbe United Kingdom to interest themselves in this movement, and use their best endeavor to furnish me with the names of gentlemen whom they think would join and uphold the honor and dignity of the team. The colonists are most anxious to receive a British team, and assure us a most hearty wolcome. I shall be pleased to give any further particulars that may be required.—Yours faithfully, Stephen Foetesque, Chairman London County Bowling Club, Crystal Palace, S.E.”
