A meeting of tho above Society was hold yesterday, there being present Messrs T. Holden (in tho chair), Smitn, Barker, Gray, Wall, Symes, Wallis, Shorratt, Watson, Witters, Strachan, Kirkpatrick, Bell, and Ctefiar. , . Messrs Williams and Kettle wrote re the Moffit-Yirtuo shearing machine, stating they hoped to bo able to give an exhibition next month. Tho Wellington Woollen Company wrote that they could not promiso to make an exhibition at the show, but would give

fcbo matter consideration. The Manawatu A. and P. Society wroto with reference to tho outbreaks of anthrax in tho colony, and urged that all A. and P. Societies should address tho Minister for Agriculture efficient sterilising plants at suitable ports of tho colony. Iu the meantime tho importation of bones for manure to bo suspended. It was decidod to adopt the course suggested by tho Manawatu Society. The following resolution wub forwarded by tho Hawke’s Bay A. and P. Society : “ That this Society desires to draw the attention of tho New Zealand Draught Horso Stud Book Committeo to tho frequent

duplication of names in tho Stud Book, which in the future is likely to lead to serious complications, and suggests that in futuro tho copyright of any name ba resorvod to the owner or breeder first, registering it, and that such owner or breeder only duplicate it by distinguishing numbers.”

It was decided on the motion of Mr Shorratt, to comply with tho request. It was further resolved to ask tho Stud Book Committee to amalgamate tho Shire and Ciydesdalo breeds of horses. It was decidod to pay tho expenses of judges on the condition that tho position was honorary. Tho following officials were elected to net at tho forthcoming Show : —Draught horses : judge, Mr W. Gardner ; stewards, Messrs Bremnor, Holmes, G. Reynolds, H. Smith, Light horses (hacks) : judge, Mr Selby ; stewards, Messrs Eliott, J. B. Morris, H. Evans, 11. Morice. Light horses (harness): judge, Mr Hine ; stewards, Messrs Sherratt, Kingston, R. Barkor, Cattle : judge, Mr Gardiner; Mr Lancaster, judge of dairy stock ; stewards, Messrs C. H. Evans, Kells, J. R. Murphy, Dewing. Sheep: judge, Mr Holmes; stewards, Mossrs 0. Monckton, Langford, Randall, Sherratt, M. Murphy, Wall. Pigs : judge, Mr Lancaster; stewards, Messrs H. Symes and W. Bell. Poultry : judgos, Mossrs Newton and Gault; stewards, Messrs M. Hall and Matthews. Dogs : judge, Mr Holmes ; steward, Mr Oates. Produce : judge, Mr G. R. Wyilie ; stowards, Messrs W. ,T. Cox and C. Goldsmith.
