FARMERS’ FREEZING COMPANY.
TO BE STARTED IN AUCKLAND DISTRICT.
(Per Press Association.) Hamilton, last night.
A movement, initiated by the Waikato Farmers’ Club, to start Farmers’ Freezing Works, reached a definite stage to-day. A representative meeting of farmers, Mr Joseph Barugh presiding, decided to form a company to be called the Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company, the nominal capital to be £150,000 in £5 shares. It was resolved that it be an instruction to the directors to give preference to landholders and stock owners in allotting shares. A committee was appointed to view the proposed sites for the works in the vicinity of Auckland. The operations of the company will embrace the Bay of Plenty, Thames Valley, Waikato, King Country, and North Auckland. The meeting considered and approved of articles of Association, Mr Waymouth, managing director of the Canterbury Frozen Meat Company, was present, and gave advice and information. About £3OOO worth of shares have been promised already.
