CRITICISM OF THE GOVERNMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association—* Copyright.) MELBOURNE, Sept. 10. In the House there was a lively debate on Mr Reid’s motion for adjournment. Tho Government wore charged with want of sincerity and shuffling over the Arbitration Bill. Messrs Watson and Kingston claimed that they were abandoning the Bill on inadequate grounds. Whatever Government was returned at the coming election would have to introduce a Bill containing the clause that the Government now objected to. The motion was formally negatived. The financial debate was resumed.
