ANTARCTIC EXPEDITION
Per Press Association. Wellington, last night.
Tho Premier recently communicated with the Imperial Government, expressing surprise at tho change of tho port of dopurturo from Lyttelton to Hobart of tho Antarctic relief expedition. The reply given through tho Agent-Goaerai is that Hobart lies 1200 miles nearer than Lyttelton to England, whereas Lyttelton is only 150 miles nearer than Hobart to tho Diseovory. Over 1000 miles will thus be saved by the change, meaning a week in point of time, and time is of the utmost importance.
