At a special meeting of the town sohool committco to-night a copy of a letter to the Education Board was read, wherewith the committee forwarded an estimate of their financial position at the end of the nnarter and asked assistance to moot haSs The Board replied, regretting inability to do more than at present. The committee, in the course of discussion, expressed regret that large sums were h e i n g spent m secondary and technical education while primary schools were being starved. It was resolved to givo the secondary staff three months notice, and all other persons employed a week s notice of with their services for the time being."
