TIMARU LOAN PROPOSALS

TIMARU, last night
A’ poll of borough ratepayers today sanctioned the raising of two loans'—'one for permanent grading of hilly streets, by 342 to 62 ; and the other of £2,500, for improving .Caroline Bay bathing resort, by 330 to 77. Little interest was shown, and only 400 out' of 1800 ratepayers voted.-
