ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

At an inquest respecting the death of Jack Russell, buried alive yesterday by the collapso of a trench at the works now in progress at the site of tho city destructor, a verdict of accidental death was returned. Wellington, last night. The well-known Potone Maori, Ngapori Te Puni, dropped dead last night. Blenheim, last night. Miohael Burke, a bushfaller at Rai, was accidentally shot through the call of the left leg ou Monday by a companion named Thomas. The latter wa3 explaining she mechanism of the rifle and was unaware that it was loaded.
