The Premier has rocoived the following reply from Colonel Porter in answer to the message sent to the latter by Mr Soddon H-5 rospeot to his statement to the Poverty Bay Herald regarding the incident in South Africa whioh led up to the recent Seddon-Taylor case. Colonel Porter wired f(f,oua Tokomaru Bay, East Coa3t; his message being as follows: —“ Your tele- ■ gram re interview, re-addressed here, rel ceived. I accept the rebake, hnt trust you will reservo judgment till the. interview is Am not responsible for press telegrams. 1 aooepted responsibility of interview entirely in the interests of the regiJjJASit as officer commanding, and should aColoro ruling complications.—(Signed) COLONEL PORTER.”
