, (Per Press Association.) >- 5 I Trootham, last night. : I Tbfl rifle meeting was continued to-day, ‘ I an d the last individual matohes for , J volunteers were fired. Volunteer A.match I 500 and 600 yards, 10 shots, and the’9oo I and 1000 yards, extra matohes, 7 shots I both, were fired simultanously. At the I 500 Storkey (DuDedin) made the possible (50), and several 49’s were also made. At I the 900 G. W. Vennell. (Tewhurau), and j Bisohell (Tarata) each scored one Bhort of I the possible, and the' latter, secured Ist I place by a cqunt back. At the 1000 yards I the shooting was not so good as at previous I long ranges, the marksmon hot having got I in touch with these rangos. .. The prize list for the Volunteer match,. 400 and 600 yards, 10 shots, was :—Whitely (Kaiapoi) ! £5, 92’; Parker (Feilding). £4, 91; Causley ,(Thames) £3, 90 ; Sandford(Christchurch) £3, 90 ; Paterson (Haworn), Earle (Mataura), R. M. Vine (Nelson), Skinner (Auckland), each £2, each 89; 21 won £2 each. Six tyros also won £l, The prize -list for extra match resulted :—IOOO yards, 7 shots : McHattie (Opaki) £4, 32 ; Haliday (Karori) £4, 31; Marett (Taranaki) £2, 30; Edgecombe (Waikato) £2, SO;' 34 won £1 each. Mansfield (Nelson),Ching (Nelson), Gillanders (Dunedin), and : Farquharson-X,Otago), who on Wednesday qualified for the ;Kynoch Cup, offered for the aggregate score -(each man Making the possible in these matohes) shot iff this afternoon. Masefield was top icorer with 31, and thus takes the eup.
