The mizzenmast was carried away," drowning file.; It was impossible .to launch the coast guard’s lifeboat. The vessel went on the rocks 'an,d broke up immediately. Willis jumped overboard, ,and was ashore. He was revived after an hour’s artificial’ respiration. Harris and Johnson gained a rock, and were rescued with great' difficulty by, means of a ladder and rope from the cliff. The vessel was reduced, to matchwood. , «
