Arthur Milsom Edmonds, gum merchant, surrendered to the police this morning in consequenoe of a warrant issued at tho direction of Mr McCarthy, S.M., charging him with committing perjury in a civil suit brought against him recently in connection with a promissory note. Accused was remanded for eight days, bail of two sureties of £IOO each and his own (£200) being allowed. His solicitor suggested thot the perjury charge be adjourned from time to time until the appeal in the civil oase was disposed of.
