"TIRED OF LIFE."
(Per Press Association.) v . . .... Auckland, last night. At about half-past 5 o’clock to day a ad named Edwin Williams, who resides , in the Domain, reported to the police that '■ a man had shot himself. Constable Skin- S ner went to the spot, and found an elderly man lying bleeding from the mouth. He was alive, but unconscious. A sixchambered revolver, one barrel of which bad recently been discharged, was lying beside him. The constable took the man to the hospital, where it was found the bullet had passed through his mouth into brain, and that rocoyery was impassible. A bos of cartridges was found upon him, and in ono of his coat pockets the following statement James Trahair, Cornish, ,^- inan, who is tired of life, and who has ' been a great suSerer from indigestion and kidney disoase, and who has spent almost a small fortune for littlo or no good, and I can neither oat or sloop. I oome to my death by my own hand. I have been in New Zealand 31 years, and am 64 yeata of age.” At about 6 o’clock ?bo police wore notified that the man had died.
