I Tho annual meeting of tho Farmers’ I Union Club, in connection with tho GisI borne branoh of tho Now Zealand Farmers’ I Union, was held in tho olub rooms on I Saturday afternoon. Mr O. J. Their 1 finances showed a small shortage, but | with the subscriptions for the present year, whioh were now due, to work on, I tho olub would bo on a sound financial footing. Tho resignation of Mr E. L. Maudo as I secretary was aooepted with regret, I several members paying a high tribute to I Mr Maudo for the satisfactory manner in whioh he bad performed his duties. [

I The election of officers resulted:— I President, Mr T. Holden ; vice-presidents, I Messrs W. B. Common and W. D. Lyenar; oommittee, Messrs W. Bell, D. Dobbie, A. Heggarty, F. Tietjen, H. H. Wall, E. M. Birroli, P. MoLoughlin, O. Gallagher, F. Bhodos, Ewen Cameron, A. J. Cameron, W. W. Smith, O. J. Parker, and J. Eobson. The appointment of secretary was left (o the committee. Votes of thanks to tbo chairman and to the outgoing officers concluded tbo meeting.
