Some excitement was caused in the neighborhood by the suspicion that a man named Chambers, found dead near Orari on Friday week, was the victim of foul play. The jury found an open verdict, though they considered it a case of suicide. Exhaustive enquiries and examination of the circumstances (including a statement by the deceased shortly before his death that ho contemplated suicide) leaves no doubt that the death was really a ease of felo do se.
