GISBORNE RACING CLUB. STEEPLECHASE MEETING. (By Early Bird.)
; The Gisborne Racing Club hold tho first day of their Winter Meeting at tho Park Racecourse to-day, and judging from tho excellent aoceptauoes received there should bo somo intarosting races. There was a good gathering at tho oonrso yesterday morning, when mo3t of tho horses engaged put in an appearance. Tukapa and Kaipetepeta went twice round at half pace. Minerve and Woodfield did easy paeiDg. Casino spriDted and looks remarkably well. Romany Girl by herself ran six furloDgs and finished woll. She will bo ridden in the hurdles by C. O’Neil. Jaok o’Lantern trotted and cantered three timos round. Anxiety and A L F sprinted, the latter shewing to tho greatest advantage. Mahntonga trotted and oantered twice round. The Tcha wont three times round at half pace. To Uka did a useful gallop by himself and sprinted with a good deal in hand. Manawarn and Squirm ran four furlongs together, the time being 53seos.,Mr Wallis’ mare having much the best of tho gallop. Motukehu and Paramata ran four fnrlongs together in 54secs. La Aime oovered the same distance, finishing woll. ABN and Morehu ran ones round, the former finishing in front, thß time being 1.59. Lady Raven and Cinque ran four fnrlongs in 5536C3, finishing together. Fencer cantered once round with the owner up. The following should run well to-day ;
