The Government have decided to summon at ODce a conference of New Zealand employers a-id employees to discuss all questions relating to trade conditoos in the colony. Invitations have been sent to all employers’ federations, Farmers’ Unions, aud Tiades and Labor Councils to saDd two de’egates eaoh, the cost of travel* ling expenses to be paid by tbe Goveßnment, and the conference to assemble in about ten days. The main reason of this action is the menace to ooknial industry of the Harvester Trust; but othor labor matters will probably be discussed. The committee of the Auckland Racing Club have received nearly 100 appliestions for the position of secretary. The applications were not considered at tbe>meet'ng of the committee held on Friday evening last, but the present secretary (Mr W. Peroivalj was instructed to, open and prepare them for a special meeting of tbe ommitieo to be held this week.
