The annual report of the directors oi the Mosgiel Woollen Company Btatos that the past year shows a distinct improvement on the preceding one, notwithstandiog the high prioe of wool, local competition, and the large importation of low. olass woollens. The orders at present to be filled are satisfactory. The sum of £3728 is a credit balance from which the directors reoommend the payment of a 8J per cent dividehd, ’ absorbing £2921, and leaving £BO7 to b 6 carried forward. Five of the erow of the ship Looh Garve were ohargod with being absent without leave. The men got leave to go ashore to lay a oomplaint, but did not return till night,. and then left again the following day. Two, who had been previously convicted, wore sentenced to eevon days without the option of a fine, and three to four days’ imprisonment,
