SERIOUS FIRE

(Per Press Association.) Wellington, lsst night. At Dargaville on Christmas Eve a fire was discovered in Pratt’s, tailors, and was believed to have been ex'inguisbed. Later | in the night a fresh outbreak occurred in the same premises. The fire engine was inoperative. The flames quickly spreid to C'apperton’s, wood joiners, Jones’, watohmaker, and Fitzhenry’s, tailors. At one time it was thought the whole town would go. The total insurances are not available, but the loss does not go into four figures!
