Goodwin Bros., of Banks Peninsula, have purchased Mr John Knight's Woodsido estate, near Hamilton, of 1050 acres, for £25,000 cash, including stock and implements. Palmerston Norlh, last night. Nathan and Co.’s dried milk factory at Bunnythorpe was totally destroyed by lire this morning, together with the dried milk plant and two separators. The factory was being used as a creamery at present. The place was insured, but the details are not available.

Bequosts by the late Donald Marson, of E lenkillie Park, Palmerston, include £250 to Victoria College, Wellington, £l5O to the High b'chool, Palmerston, £OOO to tho Presbyterian Church, Palmerston, and £4500 to the Presbyterian Church of Now Zealand. There are about 60 additional bequests, including gifts to the Hokitika hospital, public institutions in Australia and Scotland, and large sums as scholarships Only a small portion of the estate goes to his relatives. A resolution was carried deprecating the exercise of local or personal influence in making appointments.
