GUNBOATS SUMMONED.
By telegraph, Press A'ss’p, Copyright Pekin, Jan. 23. Tho Merchants’ Guild at Canton resolved to strike, owiDg to the Viceroy’s taxation scheme for rovonue for the Hankau railway. The Viceroy threatened to decapitate the leaders. Three Chinese gunboats at Shanghai have been summoned.
