;j(To .the Editor. .Gisborne Times,); Sir,—ln reply to “ Nuf Sed’s ” letter in Saturday morning’s paper. I mean that the Engineer’s soundings were misleading because the soundings vary so much. Before the groyne was extended I have known a difference of five feet in the channel in a few days. Hoping that this is a satisfactory explanation.—l am, etc., W- CrantiNG, Harbormaster.
