BERNARD’S CIRCUS.

There was a large attendance at Bernard’s circus, which opened at Gisborne on Thursday evening in a paddock near the Eoyai Hotel. The combination is not on a large scale, but the performances throughout were exceptionally good. The horses and dogs show remarkable proficiency in their work. “ Ethele,” described as “the world’s muscular postuer,” as* tonished everybody by her wonderful evolutions and contortions. The Bernard children are very clever, and win much praise for their cornet playing. There will be a matinee this afternoon.
