ANNUAL MEETING,

(Per Piess Association.) Wellington, last night. The fouiteenth annua! meeting of the New Zealand Rugby Football Union was held this evening. Me G. F. 0. Campbell presided. Mr Hutcheson, Otago, thought the »otion of the Union in allowing Governmentt > pay the return fare of the 11 At) Black * ” was open to criticism, for two reasons One was that the Union had plenty cf funds of its own, and the other was that the aotion involved a breach cf o'ortraot between the New Zealand Uoion and the District Uqiod, who had voted contributions on conditions that no aid was received from the Government. He thought the first duty of the Uoion was to establish its finance on a round basis. At least half its money should be regarded as a permanent fund. The report and balance sheet were adopted.

A motion from the Ruahine Union to effldate was rejected. Mr E. WhatmaD, cf Wairaraps, was elected president for the ensuing year. Mr E. Wy life was elected secretary, and Mr N. Galbraith treasurer. The management commi'.teo was appointed as follows: Messrs G. Dixon, C. Goldip, G. Fache, R. Isaacs, L. Laughton, A. Liureneoo, and F Warburtoo.

A motion that the appeal oommitfee be looated at Christchurch for the ensuing year was carried. It was decided to give the management oommitteo power to enforce diequalifioa tions imposed by the New Zealand Football Association or any other amateur sperts body, A resolution was passed to amend byelaw 23 to provide that inquiries into cases oi misconduct should be held within ten days.
