ACCIDENT INSURANCE
BIG REDUCTION IN PREMIUMS,
(P©r Presa Association.) Auckland, last night. Tenders for the Auokland Harbor Board’s accident insurance for the coming year were dealt with at a meeting of the’ Board. Three tenders were reoeived, and they showed a marked difference in the amount, as well as a yery considerable reduotion on last year’s payment. The Norwich and London Co. tendered at fB7 6s 9d, the New Z a'aod Co. at £74 18e 3d, and the South British Co. at j£32 18s 3d.
The amount paid last year by the Board was 41167.
The secretary said that in respect to tho offioe Btaff and other employees of the Board in non-hazudous occupations tbe rate under the lowest of the now tenders was only one-third of that paid last year, being 2s as compared with 6i; whilst in regard to laborers, etc., the new rate was ss, as against 30j last year. Tbe lowest tender was acoepled.
