ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
A JOCKEY’S DEATH.
(Per Press Association.) Aackland, last night. The jockey, Samuel Fergus, who met with ah accident at Ellerslie in the Hurdle race last Monday died last night. . Deceased leaves a wife and four children, and a subscription list has been well responded to. Fergus was 37 years of age, and well respected.
Dunedin, last Dight. The loly of C. Cowan, a sheep farmer at Menthorn, was found drowned in an abandoned shaft. His dog was lying in the shaft alongside hie master.
