In the Assembly, discussing Mr McGowan’s motion oensuring the Government for having failed to enable Parliament to vindicate its honor and dignity in connection with the Land Commissioners’ finding, he admitted that he had no hope of carrying it. Little interest was shown in the debate.
Orick challenged McGowan to resign and contest Crick's seat.
