PRESS ASSOCIATION Wellington, yesterday. Before tbe Wool and Flax F.rea Com' mission to-day, Mr Miles, resident partner of Murray, Roberts and Co., stated ho had scon wool bales very bot, but never alight, He did not think wool, a. any rate g.-easy wool, would Sims. He was certain wool would fire if in conjunction with hemp. Ho bad Eesn wcol sent ashore at Wellington owing to its being overheated. Ho thought it would bo advisable to have seme efiioer ashore who would have power to prohibit tbo shipment of any bale of wool wh'ch he considered ought not to be sent aboard tbe ship. Mr F. B.aikas, of the Naw Zealand Loan and Mereanlile Agenoy Co., said wool m'ght be damp in tbe centre of the bale and dry ouSßide without being known.
