Li tho freezer classes' the judge, Mr. J, AVilliamson, of Nelson Bros,, Gisborne, said the sheep shown were a credit to the district.

The championship for tho best beast on the ground was awarded to Mr. R. E. . j efforson’s roan Shorthorn bull, which was a fine animal. Among the dairy cattle there were some good beasts, Mr. A. Tuoliy judged. Shorthorn hull, 2 years and upwards: Jefferson's- roan 1, Jefferson's red 2. Shorthorn cow, any age: Jefferson’s Gipsy 1, lieihana’s Buttercup 2, Vaughan 3. In tlie ladies’ driving competition Mrs. Hitcher won, Mrs. Wai Kapuko was second, and luiss N. McLead third, Pony leaping: JgbsoiTs Bobby Burns (ridden by himself) 1, \ValkAJillie (ridden by himself) 2, “’•d Mjsa Daisy Cooper’s Miss PuG fits (ridden by Master C. Cooper) 3. Hunters: Taylor’s Chum (ridden by owner) 1, Taylor’s Waj'reke 2, Te Amo s Medicine 3.

In. wood chopping Mr. ‘Wachsmann was judge. Great interest was expressed by the public in the event. R. Sullivan (scratch) won in linin 29 1-5 sec.
