CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

A monthly meeting of the Charitable Aid Board was held last evening in the Borough Council offices. Present: The Chairman (Mr. Townlcv), Messrs. Webb, Whinray, The minutes of the last meeting were read and confirmed. A letter was received on behalf of a mail asking the Board to continue to him an allowance of £1 per month. -—The Chairman proposed, and Air. Whinray seconded, that the allowance be continued.—Carried. The Chairman signed cheques for varying amounts to be presented to a number of persons as charitable allowances. The Board desired to instruct their building inspector to prepare a plan of an isolation ward for their next meeting.
