It is now some fifteen Years since Gisborne bail a visit from any of Mr diaries Holloway organisations, and , ave n° doubt local theatregoers will be pleased to learn that Mr Holloway has decided to include Gis-" borne .in Ins present tour. .“Two Little Vagabonds,” the play with which the management will inaugurate their Gisborne season, lias pro- ■\ cd one of the greatest works of modern times. This drama lias a sad, sweet story, emotional to a degree, and. it gives a reflex of life in many ol its phases, while the moral influences ol a play .arc such as must not be underrated. It tends also to deepen the sense of duty to the suffermg, teaches charity, and awakens sympathy—that is, if one looks to the theatre for more than mere amusement. Geo. It. Sims and Arthur Shirley, in writing this play, have given us a drama of absorbing -interest. It is logical and entertaining, and considering the tendency to milk and water fare, this type of drama is welcome. To enter into the details of the plot, which is so well known, would serve no good purpose, It will suffice to recount the manner of its pourtrayal. In the role. of. Dick, Miss Beatrice Holloway gives so natural an interpretation that the ; onlooker is constrained to - think that he is witnessing a chapter from real life history. It is one of the most pathetic creations it is possiblo to conceive, and not a detail of the complex part is deficient. . Tho second production will be “The Coal King,” and on Friday, the last night of tho season, “Tho Shadows of a Great City 1 ’ will bo presented,
